About Me -

Member for: 4 years, 6 months, 20 days

We've been racing one car or another since 1984. Our first two cars were built mainly out of parts acquired from the local boneyards. They weren't fast by any means but it was a great learning experience.
We progressively went faster and got better equipment as we went along.
The 1979 Fairmont Futura, aka FlashBack, was purchased in 1988 from a buddies sister for 250.00 complete with a blown up engine under the hood. It took us two weeks to completely strip the car and then three years to get it back together and onto the track. I was working odd jobs here and there at that time and it took us awhile to get all the pieces rounded up, if sites such as this had been around then I'm sure we could have sped up that process!
I've always strived to get the best parts I can for the car and it was able to pass certifications for a car that will run much faster...we've had two friends die in racing related accidents so we always go for safety first and figure the speed and et will come when they come.
We've had a few different combo's in the FlashBack over the years ranging from a stock 351W engine, a mildly built 351W, a 408W, back to the mild 351W, then onto a 383W, and our current Dart-Block based 401W.
We're running in the mid to lower 10's with the current combo and with a cam change (we still run an Extreme Street grind CompCams roller at this time) we would be solidly in the 9's as we were with the 408 we ran before.
A big THANKS go out to Terri, Scott, and Dwayne for their help and support over the years...and for sticking with me through all the good and especially the bad times. Thanks to Joe at Midnight Machining for helping us to get back onto solid ground with the engine program as well. We went through a few bad choices of "engine-builders" before Joe took us in...we've been running great ever since!
We have the decals of the WoundedWarriorProject.Org the ProudPatriots.Org as well as MoveAmericaForward.Org on the car as well as we race the car to raise awareness for these organizations that do wonderful work helping and supporting our troops. Please stop by these sites to find out how you can help.
